Sony is a Japanese electronics company. In the year 2001 this Japanese electronics company Sony Corporation joined hands with Ericsson which is a Swedish telecommunication company. Finally this joint venture came out as Sony Ericsson. Sony has always been an expertise in electronics and Ericsson has been a leader in telecommunication sector. Sony Ericsson mainly focuses on music oriented, camera based, business class and economical phones. In the year 2005 Sony Ericsson came up with its W series Walkman music phone. With the introduction of the Walkman music phone, Sony Ericsson gained its popularity among the music lovers. Sony Ericsson made its mark with its W series by being the first music oriented series of mobile phone in its category. This phone was a huge success and was able to place itself in the minds of its target consumers.
In the year 2006 Sony Ericsson launched its Cyber Shot series of mobile phone. After the series it was the K series that ruled the telecommunication market.
