RIM to Introduce BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone in August

BlackBerry Curve 8520 is the latest Wi-Fi enabled smartphone to be introduced by Research In Motion (RIM). The mobile phone is likely to be available in August. The all new BlackBerry Curve provides customers, rapid web browsing and Wi Fi calling facility.

Travis Warren, director of product marketing, T-mobile said "People increasingly expect a rich, diverse experience with their mobile phones because they are using them in new and different ways." He added "Adding the BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone to the T- mobile line-up gives our customers a phone capable of helping bring balance to the chaotic demand of a busy professional and personal life."

Carlo Chiarello, Vice President, product management, Research In Motion said "T-Mobile customers are going to love how easy it is to keep in touch on Facebook and MySpace and the full QWERTY keyboard is amazingly fast and comfortable for typing on the go".

The main highlight of BlackBerry Curve 8520 is the trackpad, featured on BlackBerry Curve 8520 which is unique as compared to the trackball featured on many BlackBerry mobile phones. It employs optical technology and the gaggle of multimedia buttons available on the top of the mobile, allows controlling music playback.

Key Features of BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone:

·Wi-Fi
·A touch-sensitive optical trackpad
·The first BlackBerry smartphone to have dedicated media keys
·Flash memory of 256MB
·Storage options include microSD/SDHC memory card slot and a 512Mhz next generation processor
·2 megapixel camera
·2.6-inch TFT Touchscreen with a fairly standard 320 x 240 pixel resolution
·Bluetooth (2.0)
·3.5 mm stereo headset jack
·DivX, XviD video support

Users may surf the internet using 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and it works with Microsoft office documents and many more common file types. The pricing of the BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone is not revealed yet.
