Nokia Launches 5330 Mobile TV Edition for Entertainment Seeker

Nokia launches Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition; an entertainment centered mobile phone which combines mobile broadcast TV (DVB-H), social networking, music and gaming, all in one 3G device. The ongoing craze for mobile broadcast TV consumption and the likelihood of having more than 300 million people worldwide that prefer to watch TV on their mobile phones is the inspiration for this unique endeavor. Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition is designed to offer access to users on the lookout for on-the-move TV experience.

Speaking about the new launch, Nokia vice president Mark Selby said, "The introduction of the Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition responds to the arrival of DVB-H broadcast mobile TV networks in new markets and offers an affordable device for new and existing customers alike. Customers are increasingly watching a variety of programs on their mobiles, such as drama programs, news and sport, for a longer period of time. The Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition has the sound and image quality to hold audiences captive."

The Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition is Embedded with the Following Features:

* 2.1-inch TFT LCD with a QVGA display resolution
* DVB-H technology and 3.5mm handsfree
* 3G (HSDPA), EDGE/GPRS
* Bluetooth with A2DP, USB 2.0
* 3.2 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom and LED flash

Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition can also set reminders for favorite shows and create personal channel lists with Nokia's Electronic Program Guide (EPG) which enables tailored mobile broadcast TV experience. The company has also claimed that the handset would offer a long battery life, providing up to six hours of DVB-H usage which allows longer hours of TV viewing before charging.
The Nokia 5330 Mobile TV edition is apt for social networking as it comes with Ovi Contacts, Facebook, MySpace and YouTube preloaded. What's more, users may post status updates for friends and family to follow. Besides, they may instant message (IM) them through Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ, AOL and others.

Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition certainly has advantages as Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks work with more than 30 operators worldwide on Mobile TV implementations. Commercial launches will happen with Mobile TV services based on DVB-H and OMA BCAST standards in Austria, Finland, Ghana, Kenya, India, Italy, Namibia, Nigeria, Netherland, Philippines and Switzerland. In the next 12-18 months, commercial launches will be witnessed in more than 20 countries.

The Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition will be priced at Rs. 10, 700 /- (Approx.) excluding taxes and subsidies.
