Fujitsu to sell mobile phones in India

Japanese electronics manufacturer Fujitsu Ltd is set to release its smartphones in India in 2011, in an effort to penetrate the overseas mobile market.

The company's offerings will include models compatible with Long Term Evolution (LTE) next-generation cell phone services capable of quick data transfers told President Masami Yamamoto told.

Fujitsu hopes to sell 10 million phones by fiscal 2012, 60 percent more than fiscal 2010 estimates, according to the business daily.

It plans to make the joint venture with Toshiba a wholly owned unit during fiscal 2011.
